Five NTT IndyCar Series entries have been penalized six grid positions for unapproved engine changes heading into tomorrow’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway.

The entries of Scott McLaughlin, Scott Dixon, Takuma Sato, Kyle Kirkwood and Callum Illot all changed engines following the last round at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.

IndyCar rules state that each car must use only four engines throughout the season as part of their lease with either Chevrolet or Honda. Additional engines will be considered an unapproved change out and will not score manufacture points.
