IndyCar reveals 2026 Schedule

The 2026 NTT IndyCar Series calendar has been unveiled and sees a few shakeups to the schedule.

The schedule is highlighted by a return to Phoenix Raceway and two new events in Arlington, Texas and Markham, Ontario as well as each race televised on FOX.

The two exclusions from the 2025 calendar are the Iowa Speedway, which has hosted 21 races over 18 years. The Thermal Club is also eliminated after a two-year experiment.

A prospective return to the Autrodrome Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City did not come to pass, and a rumored new street race in Washington, DC, has also fallen by the wayside.

St. Petersburg continues as the mainstay season opener on March 1, and is paired with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Phoenix Raceway returns to the calendar after a seven-year hiatus and is featured as a doubleheader with NASCAR’s premier division.

The inaugural Grand Prix of Arlington takes place the following week and the series’ yearly trip to the Barber Motorsports Park completes the month. A four-week break precedes the yearly trip to the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, before another break in the action before May’s activities, starting with the Grand Prix of Indianapolis on May 9.

The Indianapolis 500 retains its Memorial Day date, along with Detroit a week after and World Wide Technology Raceway keeps its primetime Sunday night slot on June 7.

Two road courses follow, with Road America and Mid-Ohio taking the next two slots, with the biggest calendar change forthcoming with Nashville Superspeedway moving to July 19th. The 1.33-mile concrete oval sees its race extended to 400 miles and run at night, with FOX’s coverage of the World Cup Final leading into it.

Portland highlights the series venture to the Pacific Northwest on August 9, followed by the relocated Toronto race, now held in Markham, Ontario, on August 16. Milwaukee returns as a doubleheader weekend on August 29th and 30th.

WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca reclaims its spot as the season finale, which it has held 9 times throughout Indy car racing history.

“Once again INDYCAR will have the most challenging schedule in all of motorsports with its nearly even mix of ovals, road courses and street circuits,” said IndyCar and Indianapolis Motor Speedway president Doug Boles. “This championship format and diverse schedule test driver and team adaptability and truly celebrate the most complete driver and team at the end of the season.”
